G-ZUFL is a UK registered Hot Air Balloon, joint-owned by a group of friends (who all just happen to be pilots) for the sole purpose of fun flying in Europe.
ZUFL is an LBL 90A type balloon built by Lindstrand Balloons in Oswestry in 2003.
ZUFL has some history: it was originally registered as G-CHLL and was once the advertising balloon for Churchill Insurance. It was re-registered as G-ZUFL on 1st November 2013.
ZUFL still has a pattern depicting the Churchill ‘Bulldog’ around the circumference of the balloon, but often people say they can’t make it out… Can you?
We are officially called the ‘ZUFFLE DOG Balloon Team’ – our nod to its past existence, and this is how we registered the balloon with the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
